Herbs and 1970's wedding presents

In the kitchen at home is a wall hanging that dates from when my parents were married in the 1970's, and before the time when wedding presents were quite as micro managed as the trend today.  It lists 12 different herbs and their uses, and was a source of almost constant facination to me when I was younger.  I think it came was a salt and pepper shaker and a cutting board, since losts in the mists of time.

Anyway, after looking at this for three decades I have decided to try and experiement with cooking with each of the herbs listed.
