Savory and cannellini beans in a sun-dried tomato sauce

Further to the post on Savory below, I finally found some dried savory on sale and decided to experiment with a (very quick) bean stew.  This made not a bad lunch the other day, served piping hot with crusty bread.  I could only find dried savory, but it still gives a lovely warm flavour to the tomatoes and beans.   It was better as a cold salad that evening.

Cannellini beans in a sun-dried tomato sauce with savoury

A tin of cannellini beans
A tin of chopped tomatoes
A few tablespoons of sun-dried tomato paste
Two teaspoons of dried savoury
Two tablespoons of rapeseed oil
25g or so of Double Gloucester

Rinse the beans and place in a pan with the tomatoes and tomato paste. Add Reduce under a high heat for 10 minutes.

Simmer until the sauce has thickened. Pour into a bowl, grate over the cheese and season with salt, pepper and a swirl of rapeseed oil.

Serves one for a hearty lunch with bread, or two as part of a meal.
