Two secret places to eat
The sun is shining outside the window and several floors below people are lying around on the grass eating their lunch, so I just thought I'd break off working to mention Vanilla Black, which we visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago, hidden away in Tooks Court, just near Holborn. We had baby beetroot with wasabi cream, truffle infused mushrooms in puff pastry, an amazing tomato and mint tatin and straweberry trifle with frozen strawberrries. The food was fresh and seasonal, the wine good and the staff attentive. The only thing that could make it any better would have been if it had a little square of garden hanging with flowers and leaves like Aurora Soho.
